Preferred entertainment and media companies and eligible travelers are offered a special rate and generous bag allowance for cameras, film, lighting, sound equipment, musical instruments and other bags.
Eligible travelers will pay $60* per piece, per one-way domestic trip, or $90 / £60 / €70, per one-way international trip. Fees for overweight and oversize bags will be waived.**
Each eligible organization / company may travel with up to 25 pieces per flight, subject to seasonal and permanent bag embargoes. The maximum size and weight allowances are subject to the policies in place for the destination. Equipment is subject to seasonal and permanent bag embargoes.
Media bag rates apply to representatives of companies traveling with musical instruments, camera, film, video, lighting, or sound equipment. You must present your company issued identification (ID) or business card and your government issued picture ID for travel to receive the media bag rate.
*For tickets issued on / before February 19, 2024, the fee is $50 within / between U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Canada and for tickets issued on / after February 20, 2024, the fee is $60.
For travel on / before April 16, 2024, bags may not exceed 100 lbs / 45 kg or 126 in / 320 cm in total dimensions (max length of 75 in / 190 cm). For travel on / after April 17, 2024, bags may not exceed 100 lbs / 45 kg or 115 in / 292 cm in total dimensions (max length of 75 in / 190 cm). Overweight fees will apply to musical instruments over 50 lbs / 23 kgs and 80 in / 203 cm. Items exceeding 50 lbs / 23 kg or 62 in / 158 cm must be checked in at Terminal 5 when traveling from Los Angeles, CA (LAX).

Media Bags
Camera, film, video tape, lighting and sound equipment that is tendered by representatives of network or local television broadcasting companies or commercial film-making companies will be accepted as baggage at the fees noted below. All media-related passengers seeking to receive preferred media baggage rates must present proper media credentials at check-in, or request preferred baggage pricing and submit media credentials by e-mailing the Global Sales & Support desk at media.bags@delta.com at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure for all travel on or after February 24, 2020.

Media Bags
Representatives from network television, broadcasting and commercial filmmaking companies will be charged a flat service charge to check camera, film, and lighting and sound equipment. The items must be checked by the media representative and the charges are per item at the prices listed in the chart below. The discounted service charge applies for worldwide travel on flights marketed and operated by United, and is subject to seasonal and permanent baggage embargoes. For flights connecting to other airlines, baggage charges are subject to the connecting airline’s baggage policies.
